Clare Langan is a NYC-based chef, TV culinary producer, recipe developer and food stylist.

Featured in The New York Times, Clare’s career has been centered around the home cook.

Clare graduated from The Institute of Culinary Education in 2011. She spent time in the test kitchen at Rachael Ray’s Every Day magazine. During that time, Clare started cooking as a private chef. You could find her stocking fridges and throwing dinner parties all around Manhattan, and later in The Hamptons, Maine and Colorado.

Clare’s first foray into culinary production was in 2012 at SeeFood Media, a full-service, multi-kitchen studio. Her work on the Turner Broadcasting x Upwave ‘hands and pans’ videos earned nominations for both James Beard and IACP Digital Media awards.

Clare has spent time in the kitchens of a 5 recreational cooking class programs around NYC, including The Brooklyn Kitchen, Haven’s Kitchen, City Cooking West End, Hudson Table and Sur La Table. She spent nearly 4 years at SLT’s flagship cooking class program, first as Assistant Resident Chef, then later as Resident Chef. She taught hundreds of classes and thousands of students. She was awarded the company’s leadership award for her focus on training and developing talent.

In late 2016, Clare transitioned to full-time freelance. She was culinary producer of Full Plate with Katie & John, a digital series featuring Katie Couric in partnership with Sur La Table.

Clare is the Culinary Producer of both seasons 1 and 2 of Scraps, the A&E/FYI cooking and travel series about food waste, in partnership with Sur La Table, KitchenAid, Morton Salt and The Ad Council. She led all recipe development, culinary research and in-the-field cooking segment production for 21 episodes across the country. Under the Scraps umbrella, she also produced 10 in-studio online cooking classes, dozens of digital tip videos, and ‘hands and pans’ videos. She appeared in the season 2 Thanksgiving special aired in November 2018.

When she’s not in production, Clare is a freelance recipe developer, tester, food stylist and brand consultant. She developed recipes for the cookbook “Cooking Scrappy”, released in 2018 by Harper Collins. Clare was the personal chef to actor Freida Pinto.

Clare is a native of Syracuse, New York and graduate of Marist College. She is a proud Eat Retreat alumni. She likes decorating her apartment, cooking for her friends and traveling very far.
